Wicked pissa.

A fine surprise for sure last week when HHD designer Aaron Bouvier brought us this beautiful poster. He’d just been to hear the brilliant designer/gentleman Aaron Draplin of Draplin Design Co. do a talk over at the Somerville Library.

On the poster, which Mr. Draplin created in tribute to our city, Mr Bouvier noticed a logo we did, maybe 20 years ago for the great Boston band Buffalo Tom. What kick in the head (in the best Dean Martin kind of way,) as it sits alongside icons from my youth like the Mass Pike, Boston Bruins and New England Aquarium logos. I used to stare and think about those logos a lot as a kid.

When Aaron B. mentioned the connection, Aaron D. gave a poster to pass on. Happiness!

If you share feelings for our city, you might considering getting one for yourself here.

Our friends Andrew Zolli and Ann Marie Healy’s book Resilience is debuting today. And we got to design the book cover! This very prescient and entirely readable book gives real world examples of global, human, economic and environmental systems that fail and why some bounce back. Read it, you will feel smarter, a little chastened and, we swear, hopeful.

End Sexual Violence

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

Hairpin Communications (our sister company) just finished a rebrand for the National Alliance to End Sexual Violence. I think the logo, brochure and website (soon to launch) are great in design, strategy and message. I can say that, because my role was small. I’m bragging on Aaron Bouvier, Bob Hamilton and Burt Glass. The client was a fantastic partner. That is clutch to any successful project. Go team!
